Scared Or Sacred Life: Which choice would you make?

From the archives of shanwatts.com (the site that preceded Joy and Resonance): Wish you were doing something differently in your life?  Often get the urge to do something and then stop yourself because of what others might say? Always taking the “safe” path, regardless of where your heart wants to lead you, because you have responsibilities and need to be “practical”?  You can make a massive difference to the way you live your life if you recognise and revere what you hold sacred and live from a basis of love instead of fear. John wakes every...

Creating a Life You Love – One Small Step at a Time

If you've been following this blog or my FaceBook page for any length of time, you'll remember that last year I discovered the house of my dreams.  I'd been fortunate enough to come into enough money for a deposit by way of an inheritance left to my family by a beloved aunt and the actions of other family members and my offer had been accepted - all we needed to do was sign the forms to have the loan approved and we were set to move in.  As fate would have it, I was retrenched the same day that I spoke to the conveyancers.  Needless to say...

Be Your Own Cause

This week I'd like to thank the gifted creatrix, Paulissa Kipp, for her wonderful guest post about being your own cause.  More information about Paulissa can be found at the end of the post. Causes - we donate to them, give our time to them, write about them, sign petitions for them, speak about them and devote energy to them.  Causes like the Clean Water Project, Unicef, the V-Day Project, human rights and so much more.  We believe in causes; in creating change for good, in leveling the playing field for all of humanity.  We engage in noble...

In Honour of Our Animals

I’ve always been fortunate enough to have animals in my life.  Even when living in flats in the inner suburbs of Sydney, I had goldfish, all of whom were named after Goddesses of the sea or other things connected to spirit.  I even had a white one named Spirit and a black one named Satan at one stage, although I’m not too sure what the karmic consequences of Satan dying have been (Oops!) Up until 6 years ago, with very few exceptions, dogs have taken precedence.  When I was a little girl we inherited my Mum’s families dog, Ricki.  He was a...

Balance in all Things

With the new year just begun, I thought it might be timely to revisit a short post that originally appeared in Spiritual Wisdom Magazine back in August 2013.  What better time to start ensuring you have enough balance between the things in your life than now? About 20 years ago when I studied Nursing one of the first definitions we learnt was “homeostasis”: the tendency of a system, especially the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus...

The in between

This week is a bit of a strange one. I feel as though I'm in limbo, hanging between the old year and the new. Do you feel it too? A (my daughter) and I, literally got back from visiting family yesterday so I'm still in readjustment mode having spent 6 hours on the road. The sun is shining and this afternoon we're meeting up with a cousin, her partner and fur-kid. I haven't seen her since she was a little girl and I'm really excited! All of this isn't really conducive to getting much work done, so I have to express how thankful I am that...

The Tale of the Aspiring Businesswoman

Once upon a time there was an aspiring business woman.  She was intelligent, creative, had a real way with words and a special knack for sensing what people needed as far as her services were concerned.  Her business was brand new and she had really high hopes for it.  There was just one problem.  She'd gotten to the stage where she'd done every course she could think of but she still wasn't sure how to start. She'd spend hours reading articles, doing eCourses, reading books, etc and she still didn't see the results she wanted.  Her mailing...

Living Spirituality

From the archives of shanwatts.com (the site that preceded Joy and Resonance): There are times in our lives when an incident, an event or a season makes us pause and reflect, or even stops us in our tracks, calling on us to respond, to give witness or take action. Sometimes such occurrences are epiphanies or simply small joys that speak a truth only we can hear. At other times we are confronted with tragedy, grief, bewilderment or outrage that throws our world out of kilter. In both cases we often seek a meaning or sign that can make sense of...

How to Smooth Out the Wrinkles of Life Transitions – 5 Key Steps to Get You Started

I'm incredibly proud and honoured to share the following post, written specifically for Joy and Resonance by Gina Rafkind from VedaSun.com. I've followed Gina's blog since it's inception and she offers a wealth of knowledge about how to combat anxiety and lead a more peace-filled life. She knows her stuff because she's lived it and shares the strategies and resources she's gained as a result at her Inner Peace Hut. After you've finished reading, why not head on over to her site to find out more? "You can only lose something that you have, but...

2014 Amazing Biz and Life Academy Workbooks are Here!

You may or may not know that I'm an affiliate of Leonie Dawson and her Amazing Biz and Life Academy.  This is the only affiliate program I belong to and the whole reason why I belong to it is because it's where I am today! Leonie's 2013 Workbook was what really gave me the vision to re-start my coaching practice and take it to even greater heights than it reached when I combined it incredibly successfully with Clinical Hypnotherapy over a decade ago. There's both a Life version and a Business version, so there's something for everyone....
